Bode George released amid brass band
The former president of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Olabode George, who was jailed two years ago for fraud was released yesterday enthusiastic reception of his family and political allies.
Mr. George, a leader in the People's Democratic Party, left the prison gates Kirikiri maximum Lagos at exactly 10, 10-hour Saturday morning fanfare and amid jubilation.
He sold the hardships of prison in native dress and as it came out, it was embraced by his wife, members of the immediate family and some party leaders. He then joined a church where a service of thanksgiving was held for him. PDP leaders, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo and some senior government officials were present at the occasion.
