Timipre Sylva condemns bomb attacks, warns against retaliation

Governor Sylva Timipre Yenagoa Bayelsa State yesterday described the attack on Christmas Day in some parts of northern Nigeria as "asenseless criminal conduct by the enemies of humanity."

He said patriotic Nigerians not provoke retaliation.


In a statement in Yenagoa by his press chief, Mr. Ola Doifie, Silva said: "These explosions on Christmas Day, aimed at innocent worshipers must be condemned in all directions.

"It's time to be together, faith to faith, nationality, citizenship and culture to another, to address this growing threat to our nation and the common humanity."

The governor urged the security agencies to intensify their efforts to stop the intelligence of these terrorist attacks in the bud.
